ICE SKATING FESTIVAL in
Blackpool

One of the UK’s longest running and most successful ice skating
festivals returns to The Arena, Blackpool this April for what is expected to be the biggest festival to date. A
whole host of exciting categories have been laid on for budding ice skaters, many of whom have been inspired by the
latest series of Dancing On Ice to hit TV screens.
The five day festival takes place at The Arena Pleasure Beach,
from the 11th to 15th April and welcomes young skaters aged between 6 and 18 years as well as adults to compete in
various categories. Winners from each category then take to the ice for a grand finale gala performance at the end
of the week.
Last year saw more than 120 skaters from across the country
take part in the National Ice Skating Association (NISA) registered event. The five day festival hosts a range of
categories which cater for both beginners and more experienced skaters and is also open to those who wish to enjoy
the action from the comfort of the auditorium.
Anyone who is anyone in ice-skating has competed in this
competition in the past. Former competitors include Dancing on Ice’s Dan Whiston, Dancing on Ice coach, Stephen
Picavance, and former Olympic competitor, Paul Askham.
The Arena is found in the heart of Pleasure Beach Blackpool,
who for the festival are offering exclusive discounts on Ride Wristbands to those attending the Ice Skating
Festival. Entrants, their family and friends can enjoy the 42 acres of rides when not on the ice for
less!
